In ancient greek mythology, Dionysus was the god of wine-making, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, festivity, insanity and ritual madness. His wine, music, and ecstatic dance freed his followers from self-conscious fear and care. His mode of transport (presumably to get round all the bars and drinking establishments in ancient greece) was the leopard, either riding one of being pulled in a chariot by a pair of them.
