A symbol of wisdom and calm, Athena, the Greek Goddess of wisdom and inspiration from the time of the poet Homer, was known as bright-eyed and became strongly associated with the owl. In turn, owls are still popularly considered to be wise and in possession of calm, clear sight. This is an original design by Studio co-founder Kathleen Smyth. It has a carefully polished pure bronze finish with a ceramic resin cold cast pouring.

Wild Goose Studio is a family-run business in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland, that has been creating hand-crafted art pieces since 1970. The studio collaborates with Irish artists inspired by Irish history, mythology, and Celtic art.
