Established in 1986 and now well known for their pottery mugs decorated with humorous and local dialect sayings and phrases, Moorland Pottery borrows colloquialisms from many different areas and regions of the UK. Their “Stokie Mugs” in particular are decorated with sayings and phrases from the Potteries. They are based in Burslem, known as the “Mother Town” of the Potteries and one of the six towns making up the City of Stoke-on-Trent.
