Calico was first added to the Burleigh pattern book in 1968 and has been in production ever since. Every piece of Blue Calico made by hand in the heart of The Potteries is inspired by 19th-century indigo fabric. The rich cobalt blue tones and scrolling blossom design complement casual family dining and special occasions. Uniquely decorated by skilled craftspeople with Burleigh's centuries-old technique of tissue transfer printing from hand-engraved copper rollers. Handmade and hand-painted in Stoke-on-Trent, England.

Burleigh products are microwave and dishwasher safe. Burleigh Pottery recommends using low temperatures and liquid detergents when washing or alternatively washing by hand and drying with a soft cloth. Unsuitable for oven and freezer use.
