The outer metal casing is modeled after the prickly Scottish thistle and enhanced by the heart of the pendant, which features a colorful "gem" uniquely made from natural, hand-harvested Scottish heather stems. The stems are dried, dyed in vibrant colors, and compressed under massive pressure to form a solid block, which is then cut and polished into a gemstone.
