Product description
This decoration, designed in the UK, features a Highland piper in full dress. The bagpipe is the national instrument of Scotland and is best represented in the music of the Scottish Highlands.
Please note that these decorations are handmade and thus may appear slightly different to the displayed image.
St. Nicolas bespoke, handmade ornaments are made using the traditional method of zardozi embroidery, which originated in Persia and reached India in the 12th century. This highly skilled embroidery technique uses gold wires and jewels for embellishments. Today, only a few skilled artisans can create these pieces, making each unique. Since 1988, St. Nicolas has worked with a small Christian charity in Thailand that helps disadvantaged rural women find work in their community.
