Musselburgh is a bright blue-based tartan with shades of yellow and orange. This pattern was devised for the Musselburgh "Riding of the Marches" celebrations in 1956. The tartan represents the colors of Musselburgh, its Fisherrow fishermen and Crusaders Riding Club. The event traditionally took place every 21 years, and such had been the case for some 400 years.
